Can a sip of ice-cold Coke make you a better biz person?

“What’s great about this country is that America started the tradition where the richest consumers buy essentially the same things as the poorest. You can be watching TV and see Coca-Cola, and you know that the President drinks Coke, Liz Taylor drinks Coke, and just think, you can drink Coke, too.

A Coke is a Coke and no amount of money can get you a better Coke than the one the bum on the corner is drinking. All the Cokes are the same and all the Cokes are good. Liz Taylor knows it, the President knows it, the bum knows it, and you know it.” —Andy Warhol

No Coke EVER forgets that one of its duties is to refresh.

Literally every sip reminds you of that.

This also means that Coke is not afraid to repeat itself. Like a lot.

(Yes, they change the containers, but the main thing stays the same.)

“OK, but how can knowing that make me a better biz person?” you may be thinking.

If you’re anything like most smart people, you may be a bit self-conscious about repeating yourself. Even about the important things.

That’s normal.

And, in many cases, maybe less than productive.

Over to you: Most of our clients/customers, colleagues, biz partners, etc. forget what we’re thinking about, how we help, or even what we stand for.

And that is why, just like Coke, one of your top jobs is to NEVER STOP repeating yourself. :)

(Just like Coke, please DO mix up the containers. And keep the main thing the main thing.)

Here’s one practical suggestion on how to do it IRL: When replying to emails which seek your help, why not use ‘Always happy to help!’ as your main signoff in those cases?
