Decorated silence

“The Elizabethans described language as decorated silence.”
Julian Treasure, the chair of the Sound Agency, a firm that advises worldwide businesses on how to use sound, reminded me of this inspiring thought during his recent TED talk.

My parting suggestion:
Communicate with those who volunteer their attention. Much of our life becomes unnecessarily cluttered with meaningless noise every time someone out of the blue tries to fight for our attention. Why do they do it? The harder they try the less we pay attention.
