Why good design matters

Good design creates visibility.
And visibility invites trial.
And trial invites advocacy.
(Of course, trial invites advocacy only if the product/service in question adds genuine value for the user.)

Case in point: The Nest Thermostat from the guy who invented the iPod.

Here’s a little taste about the Nest thermostat:”…a jewel on the wall… most people try to hide the thermostat, but we’re trying to make it sexy and coveted so that you cherish it, and at parties people ask you about it and you’re proud of it.”

My 2¢:
Will you consider buying the Nest thermostat?
Why?
