A Single Big Idea Can Make You Immortal

Shortly after I published the post titled What can the Amish barn-raising teach us about big ideas, I received an email from a reader in London, England. In short, the reader asked me to cite an example of a big marketing idea that was conceived by a single person. So here’s one: The creation of the most interesting man in the world character for Dos Equis beer. According to Teressa Iezzi’s great book The Idea Writers (I highly recommend it), the idea for this stupendously viral character was essentially the brainchild of a single copywriter from a relatively small advertising agency.

My 2¢:
How can you start doing something remarkable?
My short answer: stop doing something conventional.
