A quick story about the technology of the soul

Have you ever met someone for the first time and immediately felt like you already knew them?
Usually, there’s an instant feeling of familiarity and comfort—none of that first time meeting awkwardness.

It just happened to me earlier today. How did it happen? After meeting this person, the two of us simply exchanged a few stories. So what happened during this meeting that made it feel special? What was the magical ingredient that made this meeting so natural and memorable?

The answer’s coming up in a second, but let me first ask you a question:
What magical skill can put people at ease in social situations, make your business interactions memorable and generally keep people’s curiosity on high alert? Let me give you a hint: You likely grew up with it. And are still drawn to it.

This magical skill is storytelling.
And it was the magical ingredient that made the above meeting so natural and memorable.
Storytelling is, quite simply, a universal connector.
Surprised? Probably not.

My 2¢:
It’s tempting to think that because our tools have become more advanced, we are more advanced.
But the truth is: the technology of the soul has not changed for a long time. It’s easy to forget that.
