Life at the edge of hope

Matthew Weiner is an American writer, director, and producer.
He is the creator of the now world-famous TV show Mad Men, produced by AMC.
A few nights ago, I was watching an interview with AMC’s CEO Josh Sapan on Charlie Rose. During the interview, Josh mentioned that Matthew tried for seven years to have Mad Men produced, which is a fancy way of saying that he could not find a buyer for it for seven years. (Yes, you read that right: seven years.)
My 2¢:
Not that long ago, professionally, Matthew Weiner was rejected. A lot.
What if that was the only story that Matthew ever told?
