You.

There’s something very pleasing about small things.
Consider this nugget of advice from Dick Cavett’s book Talk Show:

The most magical word you can use, short of a person’s name, is “you.”

P.S. I’m a big fan of Dick Cavett.  I didn’t watch his show back in the 70’s because I was too young :-), but I watched a fair number of episodes on DVD in the last few years. Why was his show such a success? According to Dick, because Jack Paar gave him “the single best piece of advice I or anyone doing such a show could get.” And what was that piece of advice? “Make it a conversation.” There’s indeed something very pleasing about small things.
